Dog Days

I HAD to post really quickly to show you all Titus’s first trip to any dog park…and we chose to go to one with a beach!  It was so fun to see him running free, no leashes, and playing with other dogs.  Of course, he chose the mastiff as his favorite playmate:

The water was SO warm!  I choose to believe that’s because of the 90+ degree weather we’ve been having, not the other reason.  This picture was taken before I let him off his leash.  We don’t have one of Tobin bc he was studying.  Pretty soon after I let him loose, he ran and jumped straight into the water!  He was deep enough to have to swim; hahaha, it was sooo funny!  I don’t think he had any idea he couldn’t run on TOP of the water.  That was the last time he went in willingly that day.  However, Tobin missed it so I did put him in one more time so T could see him swim.

I don’t know how clearly you can see his coat, but RIGHT after accidentally going for a swim, Titus ran like crazy to the sand (after a good shake) and rolled around in an attempt to get nice and dry.  Lovely.

Here you can see he was at least willing to get his paws wet.  :)

A good face shot:

There was a shower on the beach to clean your dog off, but when we got home he still had sand in his fur.  Plus, he was shedding quite a bit, so Tobin wanted to try brushing some of the extra fur out.  First of all, a furminator is a great investment (thanks for the tip, Em!).  After Titus stopped flipping out when we tried to brush him, we groomed him for about five minutes straight, and here’s the result:

Our baby is losing all his fuzzy puppy fur!  From what I hear, this isn’t even that bad compared to when Shibas blow coat as adults.  But it looked like a lot to us!

Search for “Titus Shiba Inu 19 weeks old” on YouTube and you can see 2 more videos of Titus, these at the dog beach.

    Cute videos!

Emily showed me her new vacuum cleaner. It is a bagless one. It was completely full of dog hair and that is AFTER they brushed George off. It was amazing how much he could shed.

I think I want Emily’s new vacuum cleaner, but I have to wait until mine dies. Hopefully that won’t happen while Dad is unemployed!

That mastiff really makes Titus look tiny. Those were fun pictures…they remind me of Marley and Me.

To answer your questions from my blog: We are only looking online at housing at this moment. We can’t act on anything until ours sells, so we are waiting. No trips to Chicago planned in the near future.

Cool post, Erin! I love seeing the pics and videos of Titus. I think he and George will be good friends when they meet in a few weeks!

Yay! How fun! Titus is hilarious….I love the one of him and the mastiff. So nice to see you and T doing something fun with the puppy….you kids work too hard! I feel like you’re still running at Rose speed. You will definitely accomplish more in the next year than I will in my lifetime, though, so maybe its a good thing. :)

I am SO excited to have you and the puppy here for the wedding! I hope T can make it, but I TOTALLY understand if he can’t. Poor guy. All studying and no fondue. That’s just not the way to go.

Keep enjoying the sunshine! Hope work is going well. Keep on studying, Tobin!!! If you can handle Rose for FOUR YEARS, you can handle this!!! :)
