Cookie Exchange

I’ve been attending a weekly book club (this time we’re reading “Marley and Me”…which has turned out to be a very good book), and this Monday we’re having a cookie exchange.  I made candy cane cookies from one of Jacque’s recipes.  Tobin helped with the candy cane topping; these are ready to go into the oven!

While I was doing that, Tobin made some homemade root beer.  It was really good, although we were nervous to try it at first.  The root beer concentrate smells very strongly!  But it turned out pretty well.

Tobin fixed the tree a little, adding a blanket around the bottom that helped to make it look not too crooked.  Oh, and my project at work wasn’t canceled after all, so I will have something to do over Christmas shutdown.  :)   Tobin’s doing well and will report for muster on Monday.  And on January 2nd, I’m getting my wisdom teeth removed.  0o

Hope everyone is doing well and ready to celebrate Christmas!  We’re getting the last of our shopping done and the bottom of the tree is looking better and better.  Time for dessert, I’ll update more later.

You two are amazing! Candy cane cookies – wow! Homemade root beer – another wow! When do we get to taste test these amazing projects. Where’s the picture of the fixed tree? I want to see…

I’ll take serving of cookies and root beer, please!

I thought all my wisdom teeth were out, but I found out in this latest round of dental work that I have two left. The dentist gave me a referral to give them out, but having just paid for five teeth to be re-filled, I am holding off on that. Does your oral surgeon give a volume discount? Maybe I should drive down and get it done a the same time.

mmmm…cookies and root beer! Sounds yummy!

Dan and I made some cookies too…not so yummy as yours though. I’ll post about them sometime this week!

Those are pretty cookies! Isn’t it fun to inherit new recipes when you get married? I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a cookie like that – what does it taste like? Is it pepperminty?

Hey – Emily’s going to post! Did everybody see that in her comment? Now if we can get Betsey to post, too, it’ll be a small miracle! :-)
