Accountability

About Zilla’s comment: Zach, that program is really cool, I used it once ( & crashed, hehe); we definitely would need better computers, though.  We’ll see, maybe someday!

And…deep breath…our company has its Corporate Cup Games coming up in mid-October, and I am going to be entering in the one-mile run.  Now, it’s a just-for-fun thing, but since I am out of shape anyway, I am going to be training to get my mile time down.  No snickers from the running audience, now; my goal is a pretty steep one for me!  I once ran a mile in 6:45, but I was in pretty good shape at the time.  So, my goal for this event is a 7 minute mile, flat.  And while I still have the bravery to agree to it, I’m making you all my accountability partners.  Yep.  Keep an eye on the “About Us” page for an update about my running schedule.  And if it’s been awhile since you’ve seen an update, feel free to ask about it!  I’ll be putting together a run plan tonight.

Ok, there we go, I bit the bullet and now 7 minute mile here I come!

WOOO-HOOO!! I like being accountability partners from a distance….that way, you can’t make me run with you!!! :)

Although, the school where I am teaching has a workout room open to teachers, so I am hoping to run after school maybe 3 times a week to get back into shape. Hah. Not that I’ve ever been uber in-shape, but I can tell my physique has gotten a little more relaxed since the wedding.

So excited for you – way to set your goal high! I think I waddle a solid 11-minute mile as it is. And I don’t think that’s too shabby. It’s faster than walking. :)

love you!!! go get ‘em, Tobin!!!

  2. Way to go, Erin!

Dan and I are running in a 10k in October. Yes, I typed that right – Dan and I! You get a free round of golf if you run in the race, so I think that’s what is motivating Dan! :)

Keep it up! I know you can do it!

Not me! I have enough trouble walking to the mailbox a block away. In fact, I have so much trouble, I send the kids.

We might get bikes for the old people, then I can ride a mile (no further). Maybe I can ride fast enough to keep up with your running. Maybe not.

Go Erin! If you want to train hard enough and long enough, I am quite sure you could go sub 6:00.

I rode Z’s bike for 25 minutes yesterday. Mom and I plan to re-start our every-other-day workout with Jillian Michaels on Monday. We are not sure which Monday, but Monday. I plan to do the Michaels DVD MWF and ride either a real bike or the exercise bike TThSa. I would love to prepare for a mile or 3 to 5k, but I don’t think my joints are up to it any more.

  5. Thank you everyone for your prayers, it’s a lot of work but I think it will be worth it. Erin is doing great you should all be very proud. And Dan is running, perhaps we’ll make the trip to come watch? Just kidding, good luck Dan-O and Em!
